The pilot of an light aircraft walked away unscathed after hitting the ground hard while landing in a field near Jumping Pound Creek on Friday afternoon.

EMS crews were called out for reports of a crash near Jumping Pound Road and Township Road 244 at about 2:00 p.m. by Sprinbank Tower and a number of witnesses.

When crews arrived, they found that a small plane had sustained a hard landing in the middle of a field and say the pilot was able to exit the aircraft under his own power.

The lone pilot was assessed by EMS and was uninjured in the incident.

RCMP is investigating and is working to determine what led up to the incident.
