There is more disturbing testimony out of the trial against two Calgary parents accused in the death of their daughter Summer.

Tuesday, court heard that when the 16-month-old was found by paramedics she had no pulse.

According to testimony, the toddler's father, Jonathon Hope, told paramedics that his phone wasn't working and he spent several hours trying to revive the girl including putting live electrical wires on her chest in an attempt to revive her.

Hope also told paramedics that he suspected his daughter had taken Tylenol but toxicology reports show the girl died of a methadone overdose.

Hope was taking the liquid opiate to treat an addiction.

His wife, Lisa Hope, is also on trial. Prosecutors allege she knew her daughter had drank the methadone but did nothing to help.

But her lawyer argues she had nothing to do with Summer's death.
