Calgary police have charged a 29-year-old woman in connection to the death of a pedestrian in a crosswalk in April.

Police were called to the collision in the intersection of 90 Avenue and 19 Street S.W. on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at about 9:55 p.m.

Wendy Turnbull, 65, of Calgary suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police detained the driver of the Hyundai at the scene but later released her without charges.

An investigation was launched into the cause of the collision and charges were the brought against the driver.

Michelle Corry, of Calgary, is charged with one count each of driving without due care and attention, failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk and speeding.

Corry made her first court appearance earlier this month.
