Members of the Okotoks RCMP have arrested and charged a man in connection to a Tuesday night break and enter south of Calgary.

Shortly after 8:00 p.m., the owner of a home in the DeWinton area contacted RCMP after locating an unknown person inside their home.

The homeowner confronted the man and the suspect fled towards Highway 2A.

The break and enter suspect was spotted by the homeowner a short time later while the man was attempting to hitchhike near the Okotoks overpass. A confrontation occurred and the suspect ran into a field on the east side of the highway.

RCMP members located the suspect at a rural residence in the area.

Brian White Man Left, a 45-year-old man from Standoff, Alberta, was arrested and charged with:

  • Break and enter to a residence
  • Mischief under $5,000

White Man Left will remain in custody until his scheduled appearance in Okotoks Provincial Court on Friday.
