Fire crews were alerted early Friday morning to deal with a fire at a Cochrane business.
When crews arrived at the scene, they found smoke billowing from an auto shop.
Forcing their way inside, crews found a semi-truck on fire.
They quickly extinguished the truck, but the building did suffer smoke damage as a result.
Jory Jenson, with the Cochrane Fire Department, says the fire could have been much worse.
"It's very fortunate it was a metal building. There are still things inside - insulation, there are gas containers inside the building. So crews needed to be cognizant of the dangers around the truck. But, with a quick knockdown, things turned out better than expected. It could have been much worse. It could have been an entire building and a long night."
The cause is still under investigation.
