Members of the Innisfail RCMP are requesting tips from the public after a 50-year-old inmate escaped from the minimum security annex at the Bowden Institution.
On Thursday, at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers responded to the correctional facility following reports inmate Sylvain Martin had disappeared.
The 50-year-old is described as:
- Caucasian
- 167 cm (5’6”) tall
- 63 kg (139 lbs)
- Blue eyes
- Tattoos on his right forearm and back
Martin is serving a sentence of 9 years, 11 months and 17 days in connection to:
- Fraud
- Obstruct Police/Peace Officer
- Personation with Intent to Gain Advantage
- Fail to comply with a Probation Order
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance
- Utter Forged Document
- Forgery
