The lone occupant of a downed twin engine Cessna has walked away from the wreckage unscathed.
The plane crash occurred at approximately 4:15 p.m. at a location near one end of Lochend Rd., outside of the town of Cochrane. The impact of the crash separated the plane’s tail from the body.
Calgary police say the plane experienced double engine failure and HAWCS was the first on scene to assist.
According to Dax Huba, Rocky View County Fire Chief, the pilot successfully navigated an emergency landing, bringing the plane to the ground on its belly and skidding to a stop.
