Fierce wind, driving rain and hailstones the size of tennis balls damaged homes and vehicles north of Calgary during a Thursday afternoon thunderstorm.

No injuries have been reported in connection to the storm.

Tornado watches were issued for areas north and east of the City of Calgary but there have been no reported sightings of funnel clouds.

As of 6:00 p.m. Thursday, Severe Thunderstorm Warnings remain in place for the following regions:

  • Drumheller-Three Hills
  • Hanna-Coronation-Oyen

Environment Canada has downgraded all previous warnings.
