In a Sunday afternoon ceremony, the Calgary Stampede crowned the 2014 Stampede Queen and Princesses.

Danica Heath, from Calgary, was named the 2014 Stampede Queen. Heath holds a degree in Geology and is pursuing a career in the field. The 22-year-old is an avid hiker, horse rider and snowboarder and enjoys field hockey and soccer.

The 2014 Stampede Princesses are Shannon Black and Stephanie Patterson.

Black, a 24-year-old from Calgary, works with the United Way and possesses a Communications degree. She loves the outdoors and enjoys showing her horses.

Patterson, also from Calgary, is a 24-year-old who works as a land administrator and a riding teacher. Stephanie enjoys reading, curling and horseback riding.

The newly crowned members of Stampede royalty have a busy year ahead of them. Heath, Black and Patterson will act as official ambassadors of the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth and are scheduled to make more than 400 appearances in the community and abroad.
