Two 20-year-old men face charges of arson and break-and-enter following a string of fires  in and around the city of Airdrie that RCMP allege were deliberately set.

On Tuesday, officers responded to a dumpster fire in downtown Airdrie following a tip from the public stating two suspicious males had been seen in the area.

RCMP located the two men and arrested them in connection with the dumpster fire as well as a number of Monday night fires that occurred in the community of Ravenswood.

Nickolas Maschke of Calgary and Trevor Brown of Airdrie both face charges of:

  • Arson (two counts)
  • Break-and-enter

The accused are scheduled to appear in Airdrie Provincial Court on Thursday, September 22, 2015.

RCMP continue to investigate a number of suspicious fires that occurred in Airdrie and the surrounding area in the first two weeks of October.

Anyone with information about the suspected acts of arson is asked to contact the Airdrie RCMP detachment, 403-945-7200, or Crime Stoppers.
