Members of the Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta will choose a new leader this weekend and the winner will be announced on Saturday night unless a second vote is required.
Thomas Lukaszuk, Ric McIver and Jim Prentice are all in the running for the Tories top job and party members are casting their votes.
Electronic voting and telephone polling started at 6:00 a.m. on Friday and will close at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday
Members can also cast a ballot at a few polling stations, but votes at these locations will still be placed by phone or online as there will be no paper ballots.
The PCAA moved to a paperless voting system for the 2014 Leadership Election because it says members were having difficulties finding their polling station and that the new system will also ensure members do not vote multiple times in multiple locations.
The results of the vote will be announced in Edmonton on Saturday night unless a secondary vote is required.
If a second ballot is needed, voting will open at 6:00 a.m. Friday September 19th and close at 6:00 p.m. Saturday September 20th.
CTV Calgary’s Tara Nelson and CTV Edmonton’s Daryl McIntyre will bring you the results LIVE from the provincial capital.
