Calgary-North West
South of Calgary-Foothills, this riding has Rocky Ridge and Royal Oak, Tanglewood and Tuscany.
The Calgary border runs irregularly in the southwest to give Bearspaw Meadows to the Airdrie-Cochrane riding, but takes Lynx Ridge. The west border follows the Bow River northwest, creating an empty projection from the main block that is open for development.
The neighbourhoods east of it are all in Airdrie-Cochrane. Lot sizes are huge and so are the neighbourhoods, there are ponds and lots of green space in the north.
The median family income is a third above the Alberta norm of $67,700 with a quarter over $120,000 and house values well above average, Under eight per cent of families are low-income.
Professional services and retail are the biggest employers. Almost 70 per cent hold post-secondary degrees.

- Current MLA: Sonya Savage, UCP (announced March 2023 she would not run - Rajan Sawhney running here instead)

ELECTION HISTORY
The riding was created in 1979 and the MLA from 1979-1986 was Sheila Embury (PC). Stan Cassin held the seat for the Tories from 1986-1989.
Frank Bruseker, a Liberal, won by 500 votes over PC Cassin in 1989 and defeated Tory Harley Torgerson by 320 votes in 1993, but lost by 2,000 votes to Greg Melchin (PC) in 1997.
Melchin, the Revenue Minister, held the seat in 2001-2008, when former CTV News broadcaster Sandra Jansen ran and won for the Tories. She also kept the seat in 2012.
Appointed Minister of Family and Community Service in 2013 and re-elected 2015, Jansen made a bid for the PC leadership but withdrew in a letter to supporters, citing harassment, including insults scrawled on her nomination papers, and insults for protecting women’s reproductive rights.
In 2017, Jansen crossed the floor and joined the NDP as Associate Minister of Family and Community Safety, and much more but did not run in 2019, when UCP’s Sonya Savage was the winner with the NDP’s Hafeez Chishti second.
