Nobody was hurt when the Subway Soccer Centre came down Monday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the building at 7000 48 St. S.E. around 10 a.m.

A witness tells CTV he saw some snow fall off the northeast side, which ripped a hole in the inflatable roof, and watched as it deflated.

The dome was empty at the time as the maintenance crew had just left the building before the collapse.

The centre contains three main fields and two mini fields.

The dome is just two years old. It was replaced in 2008 after the previous roof also collapsed.

The collapse means major disruptions to soccer schedules. Thousands of local soccer players will be affected.
