A larger number of Calgarians will be able to take first aid training courses with the introduction of a state of the art medical training facility.
St. John Ambulance opened the doors of their newly renovated building in the city’s northeast.
The facility will accommodate more people for first aid training.
Courses will be held in one of eight classrooms fitted with multimedia capabilities and the building contains a warehouse for the organization’s mobile first aid units.
“There’s a tremendous increase in parking from our previous facility,” says Kim Laing of St. John Ambulance. “Where it (the new building) will make the biggest difference, for Calgarians in particular, is access to some of the volunteer community services that we do."
The renovations were made possible by multiple donors and a grant from the provincial government.
