Members of the High River RCMP detachment are investigating recent reports of rural gunshots that led to the discovery of shotgun damaged traffic signs.
On Wednesday, officers responded to an area near the intersection 546 Avenue West and Coal Trail, west of High River, after a resident reported the sound of as many as 20 gun shots. Police located spend shotgun shell casings on the roadway as well as a stop sign and a school bus stop sign with shotgun blast damage.
Similar incidents in the High River area were reported on Tuesday night, April 27, and on April 19. Witness reports identified a silver or grey car as the suspect vehicle with as many as four people inside. The make and model of the car have not been confirmed.
RCMP members believe the events are related.
