Calgary Police are turning to the public to help gather more evidence in the beating death of Lukas Strasser-Hird last month,

According to police, Strasser-Hird, 18, was assaulted by a group of people in the 200 block of 10 Ave. S.W. at about 2:45 a.m. on November 23.

He later succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

Police now believe that he was involved in two separate altercations prior to his death.

After the first altercation near a downtown Calgary bar, Strasser-Hird and his associates managed to leave the situation, but met up with the group again at the rear of the bar.

Investigators believe that there may have been several people who used their cellphones to shoot pictures or video of the situation.

Police are hoping to get their hands on these images. They’ve set up a special e-mail address, homicidetips@calgarypolice.ca, where people can send photos and video to that may help in the investigation.

Images and video can also be sent anonymously using Crime Stoppers’ online tip form at tttTIPS.com.

Police ask that anyone who submits photos or video should include as much information as possible including who took it, at what time, what date, and the location.

Three men have already been charged in connection with Strasser-Hird’s murder:

  • Nathan Paul Gervais – first degree murder
  • Franz Emir Cabrera – second degree murder
  • Joch Pouk – second degree murder

Police say that more charges may be laid against these men in the near future.
