The newest member of CTV Morning Live is weather anchor Jodi Hughes.

If, when she was born, someone made a forecast of Jodi’s life it would include, “long range models suggest a good chance of broadcasting.”

Jodi is a third-generation Calgarian and a second-generation weather specialist.

She grew up following her father Jimmy Hughes through radio and television stations and eventually got a job at a local radio station where her paths crossed with former CTV meteorologist David Spence. (as an aside – CTV alum Darrel Janz was one of Jodi’s instructors in the broadcasting program at Mount Royal College (now university).

Jodi spent more than 15 years working in radio, making stops in Drumheller, Edmonton and Prince George.

She moved back to Calgary in 2002 to join the CJAY 92 morning and afternoon shows, before making the switch to television weather in 2013, where Jodi was hired at CBC Calgary where she first worked with CTV Calgary chief meteorologist Danielle Savoni.

In 2014, Jodi was hired as the weekend weather anchor at Global Calgary.

Along with her weather duties, Jodi did some online reporting, talk show producing and hosting, commercial shoots and news reporting.

Proving that life is full circle, in July 2023 Jodi returned to the studios on Broadcast Hill when she joined the CTV Morning Live team.

Jodi is a mom to two very active teens, Parker and Addison. When she is not at work she can likely be found on the sidelines at a soccer pitch, in the stands at a hockey rink, or being walked by their two giant rescue dogs Phoebe and Cooper.

Jodi speaks English as well as a little bit of French.
