Lethbridge police have now apprehended a potentially dangerous suspect who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

Early Monday morning, police attended a home in the north end of Lethbridge and arrested David Fomradas.

Fomradas, 38, escaped from a forensic psychiatric hospital in Coquitlam, B.C. on March 3 and a Canada-wide warrant was issued for his arrest.

He was believed to be in the Lethbridge area because he was born there and still has ties to the community.

The public was warned that Fomradas had the potential to be dangerous.

He is now in custody in Lethbridge and will be sent back to B.C.
