Fire crews battled a late afternoon house fire has displaced the residents of one home.
Members of the Calgary Fire Department responded to a home in the 100 block of Prestwick Terrace Southeast shortly before 5:30 p.m. following reports of a fire.
“Due to the large volume of smoke visible from a distance, we went to a second alarm prior to the first piece of apparatus arriving,” said CFD Battalion Chief Al Magwood. “We found a fully involved, two storey residential house with an adjacent garage that was also fully involved.”
Fire crews determined no one was inside the home and successfully extinguished the blaze before it could spread to the lone neighbouring home.
The fire was under control shortly after 6:00 p.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
