An Airdrie man is charged with four child pornography offences after Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams' (ALERT) Southern Alberta Integrated Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit and Airdrie RCMP searched the man's home and seized several pieces of computer equipment Thursday.

28-year-old David Henshaw was arrested and charged with one count of accessing child pornography, one count of possession of child pornography, one count of distribution of child pornography, and one count of publishing child pornography.

Henshaw was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Airdrie court May 20th.

Henshaw isn't allowed to have a computer or access the Internet.

Police continue to investigate.

The ICE Unit is an integrated police team made up of investigators from Calgary Police Service, Medicine Hat Police Service, Lethbridge Regional Police Service, and the RCMP that specializes in the investigation of sexual exploitation of children through the Internet.

ICE is part of the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT), an umbrella organization established by the Government of Alberta to bring together Alberta's most sophisticated law enforcement resources to strategically tackle serious and organized crime.

Close to 400 municipal police, RCMP and sheriffs work for ALERT.
