Calgary police are hoping the public will be able to help them find a man who went missing two months ago.

Fletcher Kimmel, 30, went missing on September 27 and police now say his disappearance is considered suspicious.

He is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • 6’5”
  • Medium build
  • Short brown hair
  • Close-cropped beard
  • Brown eyes

Kimmel was last seen at the 7-Eleven, located at 3510 39 Avenue N.E.

Numerous attempts to find Kimmel have not resulted in any details about his whereabouts, so the police are making an appeal for information.

Don Coleman with the CPS Major Crimes Unit says it isn't illegal for someone to go missing, but when the disappearance starts to drag out for a while, that's when police start to get more concerned.

He says that police have exhausted a lot of their leads into Kimmel's disappearance and that's why they are making the public appeal.

"Most of the investigative avenues we've pursued so far have not led us to Fletcher, so we are looking for any information from the public, or Fletcher himself, to come forward and let us know that he's okay and anybody that might know what happened to Fletcher, if something bad happened, to let us know."

Coleman said no vehicle is believed to be involved in the investigation and Fletcher was alone when he went missing.

Kimmel’s family has put together a Facebook page with further information about his disappearance.

His mother, Sandra Kimmel, was recently in Calgary, visiting the city's homeless shelters to see if she could learn anything about his whereabouts.

She told CTV that her son had fallen on hard times in the economic downturn after losing his job in the oilpatch.

He'd managed to find some work in construction, but a freak accident left him unable to work again,

Sandra says her son is frustrated right now but she wants him to come home.

"He’s frustrated because he can’t find a job. He’s frustrated because his foot hurts and it’s not healing as fast as he wants it to. He worked in the oil patch. Everything moves fast in the oil patch and things are not moving fast enough for him right now.”
