Timmy Engel, the man charged in the murder of Otto Bunty Loose appeared in court for unrelated domestic charges only to have the matter put over.

Duty counsel assigned to Engel said they had an unspecified conflict.

He was set to face 12 charges that were laid against him after a fight he had with his ex-girlfriend Christina Alexander.

The charges include uttering threats, unlawful confinement, choking with intent, mischief, assault, and assault causing bodily harm.

Police say that Engel was out on bail and on house arrest for these charges at the time Loose was murdered.

Bobbi Joe Parks, Engel's co-accused in the Loose murder, also appeared today in court for a charge of obstructing a peace officer.

Parks' case was also put over to Feb. 29 after complaints that the RCMP had not submitted any files for the charges.

Engel is charged with first degree murder in connection with the death of Otto "Bunty" Loose, who went missing from his Vulcan home in early January.

Police believe that Loose's disappearance and murder was the unfortunate end of a con/extortion scheme headed by Engel.

He is expected to be back in court to face those charges on February 27.
