Adriana started her path in broadcast journalism after completing her Honours Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto. Then, while studying journalism at Humber College, she found her passion for reporting and telling stories.
Her first on-air job brought her to Northwestern Ontario where she was the court-beat video journalist for TBT News in Thunder Bay. She covered the nine-month long inquest into the deaths of seven Indigenous youth, all of whom had left their families in remote Northern communities to attend high school in Thunder Bay. These experiences opened her eyes to Indigenous issues that were unique to Northern Ontario, and the stories that were rarely told elsewhere.
While in Thunder Bay, Adriana wore many hats. She would occasionally fill in for the weather anchor before she transitioned into a news anchor role. This primed her for the next opportunity, which brought her back to her hometown of Winnipeg, as the morning weather specialist and co-host of Global News Morning.
During her two years In Winnipeg, Adriana learned to master the green screen and, next, joined CTV Calgary as the weekend weather anchor. She quickly discovered that weather in Calgary was unlike anything she’s ever experienced, and often boasts to her family and friends back home about Chinooks.
One of things Adriana loves about her job is the chance to speak to students at different schools about weather as part of CTV’s “Weather in the Classroom” program.
Adriana is fluent in English and Mandarin.
