Jordan Kanygin
ContactJordan Kanygin is a reporter and occasional anchor for CTV Calgary, joining the team in January of 2016. He often covers municipal and provincial politics and stories about the economy, recreation and health.
Before making his way back to Calgary, where he was born and raised, Jordan covered news and sports High River, Okotoks and Medicine Hat.
Jordan reported on the devastating 2013 Southern Alberta floods, which helped earn Golden West Broadcasting a Western Association of Broadcasters Gold Medal Award for team coverage.
Jordan was fortunate to be part of the CHAT TV News team in Medicine Hat, which earned an RTDNA National award for Best TV Newscast (small market) in 2014 and 2015. He’s also covered several municipal, provincial and federal elections, along with Calgary’s 2026 Winter Olympic bid plebiscite.
Calgary-based Jordan graduated from SAIT's Radio, Television and Broadcast News program. In his spare time, Jordan can be found in a hockey rink, hitting the slopes or spoiling his dog, Baxter
Jordan speaks English.
