Police have identified a group of four young people they say are responsible for a series of fires set at a number of schools in southeast Calgary in early February.
According to police, four male youths were spotted trying to light arrows on fire and shoot them against the exterior wall of St. Isabella Elementary Junior High School in Copperfield on February 7.
Three other arson incidents were also reported at the school throughout the month and the same group is believed to be behind all of them.
On Tuesday, March 6, police say that four youth and their parents have come forward in response to the request for public information.
Detectives are interviewing each of the individuals to determine their involvement in the incidents.
Further information will be released once charges are laid.
Meanwhile, police are still looking for information on a fifth arson involving a Calgary school, not believed to be connected to previous incidents.
Witnesses say that four youth were spotted running to a sedan parked near McKenzie Lake School at about 9:55 p.m. on Saturday, February 18.
Anyone with information about that incident is asked to call police at 403-266-1234.
