A Calgary man is facing charges after police recovered a number of stolen items from a vehicle in the city’s northwest earlier this year.

Police were called to the 8000 block of Country Hills Boulevard N.W. at about 2:00 p.m. on January 16, 2016 after someone spotted a man acting suspiciously in a store and nearby parking lot.

Officers spoke to the man in the store and when they went out to the parking lot, noticed a large amount of property in the man’s vehicle.

Investigators say that the licence plate did not match the vehicle and it was not registered so it was impounded.

A search warrant was executed on February 2 and police recovered break and enter tools, drugs, electronics, tools, jewelry and a firearm with ammunition from inside the vehicle.

Robert Brousseau, 36, of Calgary, is charged with one count of possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order, two counts of breach of recognizance, one count of possession of break and enter tools, and one count of possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

Police have returned most of the items to their rightful owners, through stolen property reports, and have set up a photo gallery HERE to try to return the remaining items.

Property owners are asked to contact recoveritems@calgarypolice.ca, with an image number and contact information and can do so until July 15, 2016.
