A hiker has died after being rescued in Kananaskis Country.

Paramedics said three hikers became lost Saturday night on the King Creek Trail.

One of them made it into cell range Sunday morning and called for help. The other two were rescued separately.

Two of the hikers did not require medical treatment.

The third was transported to hospital by STARS Air Ambulance in critical, life-threatening condition.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, the wind chill Saturday night at Nakiska ridgetop/Kananaskis was -21 C or around -9 without wind.
