The Calgary Stampede has cancelled all 2013 concerts scheduled for the Scotiabank Saddledome during the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth following extensive damage to the building suffered in recent flooding of the Elbow River’s banks.
The following shows are impacted by the decision:
- July 10 - Carly Rae Jepsen
- July 11 - Tim McGraw
- July 12 - Dixie Chicks
- July 13 - KISS
Ticketholders are asked to hold on to their tickets as they will allow access to the Stampede Grounds on the date the concert was scheduled for.
Efforts are being made to reschedule the concerts for a later date. Refund information and rescheduling updates will be available on Ticketmaster’s website.
According to the Bruno Mars website, the popular singer’s concert scheduled for July 17 at the Saddledome has been postponed as well. A new show date has yet to be confirmed.
Bruno Mars support act on the Moonshine Jungle Tour, Ellie Goulding, will not be performing on the rescheduled date.
The Saddledome suffered damage to its electrical, water, and air conditioning systems. Air quality within the building remains poor and is currently unsafe to host concerts.
Stampede officials say the size of the concert set-ups, and the fact they are tailored for an indoor venue, left no suitable alternative sites for hosting the shows in Calgary on the scheduled dates.
