Officials with the Calgary Police Service say they are in the midst of a methodical search for evidence in the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of 5-year-old Nathan O’Brien and his grandparents, a search which does not currently require the assistance of citizens scouring public property.
Investigators are conducting a search of specific areas which is expected to last for a period of thirty days. The specifics of the CPS search plan have not been released in order to protect the integrity of the investigation. Police continue to ask owners of rural properties to search their land for anything suspicious.
In a media release issued Thursday afternoon, representatives with the Calgary Police Service say they appreciate the tireless efforts and tremendous support of the public, and, should public assistance be required in the future, police will alert the public through the media and social media.
