One of the three males charged in connection with the murder of 18-year-old Brando Walker is expected to appear in a Calgary courtroom on Monday.

On the weekend, police laid charges against three people:

  • A unidentified 15-year-old boy, second degree murder
  • 21-year-old Chad William Gosselin, accessory to murder
  • 20-year-old Steven Cameron, manslaughter

Cameron is expected to appear in court on Monday morning, with the others expected to make appearances later on this week.

Police also say that a fourth man, 20-year-old Jamison Childress, was to be charged with murder, but was shot and killed by U.S. border officials last week while he was trying to sneak into the U.S.

In early March, a pair of fishermen found a body near the Elbow River on the Tsuu T’ina First Nation west of the City of Calgary.

RCMP identified the body as that of 18-year-old Brando Walker, from Calgary.

His body was partially burned.

Investigators say that Walker was liked killed inside a northeast Calgary home but have not said how he ended up at the location where his body was found.

The friends of Walker say the arrests in the case bring some closure.

Meanwhile, police are still open to the possibility that there could be more suspects in the case.

Some of Walker’s friends say they plan to attend the proceedings.
