A Calgary man accused of molesting seven teenage boys will have his day in court in 16 months time.
Philip Heerema, who is currently 53, faces 22 charges including luring, inciting sexual contact and sexual assault.
Heerema allegedly assaulted the boys during his time as the director of The Young Canadians. The accused spent 36 years with the group that trains performers between the ages of 11 and 18
The investigation into Heerema stemmed from a teenager’s inappropriate relationship allegations brought forward in 2014.
According to investigators, seven males, between thae ages of 15 and 18, were the victims of Heerema’s advances.
The trial is scheduled to last four weeks.
