Video of Chestermere assault leads to charges against youth

A youth has been charged in relation to an assault that took place in a Chestermere back alley on Dec. 16.

After receiving a report of the assault that day, RCMP were able to contact people who had seen a video of the assault, which spread on social media. An investigation by Chestermere RCMP officers led to the suspect being identified.

On Dec. 17, a youth was charged with assault causing bodily harm and uttering threats.

The youth was released from custody. They’re scheduled to appear in court in Strathmore on Feb. 20, 2025.
