Calgarians can fly direct to Mexico City starting this spring, thanks to a newly minted WestJet route.

Starting on May 14, WestJet will launch non-stop flights between Calgary and the Mexico City International Airport, five times per week each way.

With the addition of Mexico City, WestJet will serve 13 cities in Mexico from 24 Canadian cities this year.

“Service between Calgary and Mexico City opens the door for more Western Canadians to explore Mexico’s vibrant culture and history, while boosting trade and tourism across North America,” said Daniel Fajardo, WestJet’s vice president of network and schedule planning.

The airline said it last had flights between the two cities in 2018.
