Calgary police have one person in custody after a car slammed into the front of a northeast pizza parlour early Wednesday morning.

They say the crash happened at about 2:23 a.m. when a witness reported a car running through the front window of Jay's Pizza on 60 St. N.E.

The car then left the scene.

Fortunately, the business was closed and no one was injured in the crash.

The owner says he was surprised when he got the call.

"I was sleeping in when I got a call from the security people - they told me the alarm went off." says Harinder Seetal. "I don't know how long it will take before I can do business again."

Police searched the immediate area and soon found the vehicle.

The investigation continues, but alcohol is suspected in the crash.
