Calgary police have laid charges against four people in connection with a drug investigation that led officers to conduct several searches last month, seizing quantities of drugs and several weapons.

Officials said the investigation began in September 2024, when members of the public told police about a suspected drug operation.

On Dec. 12, 2024, police obtained search warrants for a vehicle and a home in the 1800 block of 14 Street S.W. and a detached garage in the 600 block of 28 Avenue N.W.

During those searches, police found 4.3 kilograms of fentanyl, two kilograms of methamphetamine, 11 grams of hydromorphone, 5.6 grams of heroin, 3.9 grams of cocaine and 2.2 kilograms of an unknown powder.

Police also found $4,145 in cash, a hydraulic press, a brick stamp press, a makeshift conducted energy weapon and a 3D-printed, .22-calibre handgun.

Almost a week later, on Dec. 16, 2024, police searched a storage locker and found $100,000 in clothing, believed to have been stolen from a business in Kensington in November 2024.

On Dec. 19, 2024, police searched another home, this time in the 2300 block of 34 Avenue S.W., and found 54 grams of methamphetamine and $2,000 worth of stolen clothing.

Three men and one woman were arrested and charged by police in connection with the investigation.

Christopher Paulo Alves, 37, Haley Elizabeth Erbach, 32, Clifford Clayton Favel, 48, and Roberto Ferreira, 57, have been charged with drug, weapon and stolen property offences.

Nine other people, who were found inside the homes during the execution of the search warrants, were arrested on 15 outstanding Criminal Code warrants and 11 Traffic Safety Act warrants.

Anyone with information about this operation, or other criminal activity, is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
