The Calgary Farmers' Market has been at the Blackfoot location for three years.

The Calgary Farmers’ Market is throwing a birthday bash to celebrate ten years of bringing fresh food and local crafts to the community this weekend.

Farmiversary kicks off on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. with a guided tour from a world class chef and a number of other activities and performances are planned throughout the day.

“We have so many special things going on for tomorrow. We have vendor specials all day,” said Kerry Miller, Marketing and Events Coordinator for the Calgary Farmers’ Market. “We have balloons and games for the kids and just lots of fun, lots of celebration.”

The market was opened in July 2004 and moved to its permanent home just off of Blackfoot Trail on April 21, 2011.

Over 80 vendors offer locally grown produce, meats, and art as well as international foods and 80 percent make it, bake it or grow it.

20,000 people visit the Calgary Farmers’ Market each week and more than a million people visit each year.

Farmiversary Activities Around the Market:

10:00 am - 3:00 pm: Butterfield Acres Petting Zoo
(outside on the grassy area south of the food court)
10:00 am -1:00 pm: Shine FM 88.9 live on location with mascot Shiner, blow up games, & mini golf

1:00 pm: A small bite-size celebratory treat from Jelly Modern Doughnuts will be handed out from three locations in the market *while quantities last
