Calgary fire crews say no one was injured when one car involved in a crash in the southwest burst into flame.

At shortly before 6 a.m. on Friday, emergency crews were called out to a crash scene on 21 Ave. and 29 St. S.W.

When they arrived, they found a van had lost control going around a corner and slammed into a parked car.

Crews believe that the impact from the crash ruptured the gas tank of the other vehicle and the fire began soon after.

Both vehicles were destroyed.

The driver of the van managed to get out of his vehicle and no one was injured.

Investigators remain on scene.
