A 30-year-old Calgarian is dead following a single vehicle Trans-Canada Highway crash near the entrance road to Sunshine Village.

At approximately 9:00 a.m. Saturday, members of the Banff RCMP detachment and EMS responded to a location along the Trans-Canada Highway near the Sunshine Road overpass following reports of an overturned vehicle.

Emergency crews located a deceased man inside a Toyota Echo. The deceased, the lone occupant of the car, has been identified as Navdeep Gill of Calgary.

RCMP believe the car had been travelling eastbound when the driver lost control of the car, sending the vehicle off the highway where if flipped in the ditch. The time of the crash has not been confirmed.

Traffic on the Trans-Canada Highway was not impacted by the police investigation into the crash.
