Vickie Chase

Community Investment Coordinator/Host of CTV’s Community

Vickie has been reporting on Calgary’s weather, covering everything from Calgary’s worst hailstorms to some of our crazy Chinook temperature swings, since 1997 and assumed the role of Community Investment Coordinator and Host in 2011.

Never far from the heart of the community, Vickie has always played an active role volunteering or emceeing some of her favourite fundraising events in the city.  She also took great pride in her many years as the street reporter for CTV’s Stampede Parade coverage.

As one of the city’s long standing broadcasters, she has been a familiar face and voice on Calgary radio and television since 1987.

An alumnus of Mount Royal University (College), Vickie began her broadcasting career in 1982 at CJGL Radio in Swift Current Saskatchewan.  She made her move into television upon her arrival at CKSA Lloydminster in 1983.  After stops at the anchor desk and in the reporter chair in Sault Ste Marie Ontario she made her move back west in 1987.

Being a Mom has been the most important role in Vickie’s life.  Shehas travelled to Nicaragua for World Vision in the hopes of helping children in developing countries and volunteered at the Alberta Children’s Hospital for a number of years.  Now when Vickie isn’t at work she loves her volunteer job as a foster parent for the Calgary Humane Society.  She truly believes as caring citizens we all need to advocate for the children, animals and elderly that might not be able to speak on their own behalf.
