An afternoon fire in Banff National Park is causing massive traffic delays for westbound motorists.
According to Alberta 511, the semi fire occurred at around 4:30 p.m. at a location west of Sunshine Road. The cause of the fire has not been confirmed.
Traffic on the westbound lanes of the Trans-Canada Highway is at a standstill and stretches for a number of kilometres. RCMP have not released an estimated time for the reopening of the highway.
