Fire crews battled an early morning vehicle fire in the city’s northeast which destroyed a van and damaged the exterior of a nearby garage.
At approximately 2:00 a.m., firefighters responded to an alleyway in the 100 block of Falsby Rd. N.E. where they encountered a passenger van engulfed in flames.
Crews successfully extinguished the blaze but the van was irreparable.
No injuries have been reported.
The siding on a detached garage was melted by the radiant heat of the fire. The garage suffered no structural damage.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
