Police in Lethbridge continue to investigate the homicide of a nine-month-old boy and say his injuries were not consistent with a fall.
Emergency crews were called to a home in the 600 block of 17 Street N on April 28 for reports that a baby was in medical distress.
Austin Wright was found inside the residence by paramedics and was in cardiac arrest. The little boy was not breathing and was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Family members originally told police that Austin had stopped breathing but an autopsy determined that he died as a result of blunt force trauma.
Police confirm that the fatal trauma was not consistent with a fall and declared his death a homicide.
The investigation is ongoing and so far no charges have been laid.
