Current team members Mikael Backlund, Rasmus Andersson and general manager Craig Conroy joined an illustrious list of Calgary Flames alumni as the NHL announced the team’s quarter-century all-stars Saturday.

The NHL announced the Flames first and second all-star teams as voted on by Calgary media, former players and team executives.

The first team consists of forwards the late Johnny Gaudreau, Matthew Tkachuk and Jerome Iginla. On defence, it’s Mark Giordano and Robyn Regehr, with Mikka Kiprusoff in goal.

The second team features Backlund, Sean Monahan and Conroy, with Andersson and Dion Phaneuf on defence. Jacob Markstrom was selected as the goaltender.

The NHL has been announcing a quarter-century all-star team every day since the Winter Classic was played on Dec. 30.

Once the league has announced each club’s quarter-century all-stars, there will be a league-wide fan vote between Feb. 12 – 26.

The fan vote will determine the top 25 players of the past 25 years, regardless of position. Voting will be available at NHL.com and on X, with fans having 100 per cent of the vote.
