Bowness woman's death 'non-criminal,' says Calgary Police Service
Police now say the death of a woman in a Bowness home last month was not criminal.
The woman died in the northwest Calgary community on July 9.
Initially, her death was considered "suspicious," according to police at the time.
Officers who attended the home found the woman injured and she died despite efforts to save her.
Later, officers led a visibly distraught man away in handcuffs.
As he was being put into the back of a police vehicle, he was crying and saying, "I didn't do it, I didn't do it."
"After further investigation into the death of a woman that occurred in the northwest community of Bowness on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, detectives believe the death to be non-criminal," police said Thursday in a release.
"As such, no further information will be released."
