Members of the St. Paul RCMP detachment confirm Fallon Jessica Ouellette is in police custody.

27-year-old Ouellette, a resident of Calgary, faces nine charges in connection to a June 2014 highway crash near the settlement of Mallaig, Alberta, approximately 200 kilometres northeast of Edmonton.

As a result of the collision, a minivan erupted in flames, claiming the lives of a 49-year-old man and his 52-year-old common-law wife. Witnesses removed a 12-year-old girl, the man’s daughter, from the fiery wreckage.

Following the RCMP request for public assistance in locating Ouellette, the suspect contacted St. Paul RCMP and surrendered to local authorities in Edmonton.

Ouellette will be transported to St. Paul and will appear before a Justice of the Peace within 24 hours, at which time she will be formally charged in connection to the highway fatality.
