Lethbridge police are searching for a cellphone they believe is linked to a homicide in the city in late December.

Police continue to investigate after a woman was found dead inside a ground floor room of a motel in the 2200 block of Seventh Avenue South.

The victim was identified as 34-year-old Christina Webber.

Police say a cellphone connected to the homicide may have been thrown into the bed of an unknown truck.

The truck was parked in a private lot belonging to the Henderson Estates condo complex in the 2200 block of Eighth Avenue South.

The parking lot is located on the west side of the property.

Anyone with a truck who parked in the lot between Dec. 26 and 28 is asked to check their truck bed.

If a cellphone is found, police say not to touch it and call 403-328-4444 immediately, referencing file number 24025352.

Members of the public are also encouraged to contact police if they previously found a phone in their truck bed.

Following investigation, police determined two men and a woman who were known to Webber visited her room at the motel. She died following an "interaction" involving a gun.

Police said the three people took property from the room and fled in an SUV, which was later parked in the 500 block of Seventh Avenue South and set on fire.

An autopsy was performed by a medical examiner in Calgary, which confirmed the death as a homicide.

Drew Austin Waters, 28, of Cranbrook, B.C., was charged with first-degree murder, arson to property and possession of a prohibited firearm.

Kyle Douglas Doddridge, 36, of Lethbridge, was charged with first-degree murder and arson to property. He was also remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 8.

Melissa Christelle Tidlund, 23, of Pincher Creek, turned herself into police and was charged with first-degree murder and arson to property.
