Westerly winds will continue to flow across the southern Rockies elevating temperatures east of the range.

In Calgary, sustained winds on Tuesday are expected to be steady around 10 to 20 km/h with gusts up to 40 km/h at times. It will be mostly sunny on Tuesday, so melting is likely to be amplified, with pooled water prone to freezing after sunset.

A ridge of high pressure situated along the entire B.C. coastline will slowly edge east throughout the week, and along the eastern edge some precipitation is possible.

In Alberta, that will include a variety of conditions; snow in the northern portion of the province and rain or mixed precipitation in central and southern Alberta.

Depending on the type of precipitation and the timing, it is possible that road conditions will rapidly deteriorate in the southeast corner of Alberta later Wednesday and Thursday.

Calgary could see light and mixed precipitation Wednesday, with a similar setup on Friday when this current pattern breaks down.

Daytime highs in Calgary are expected to remain above freezing until early next week with overnight lows exceeding average daytime highs at times.

Right now, the seasonal range of temperatures in Calgary span from -15 C to -3 C.
