Justice Minister Jonathan Denis confirmed on Sunday that he would not be pursuing Alberta’s top job.
Denis made the announcement over the weekend, adding that he would be supporting the perceived front runner Jim Prentice.
Prentice hasn’t officially declared his candidacy in the race yet.
He is the second cabinet minister who was thought to run for leadership to step aside.
On Thursday, Finance Minister Doug Horner announced he would not be running.
Horner finished third in the leadership race that saw Alison Redford take the lead.
The Tory leadership vote is this fall.
