The father of a six-year-old girl who died in 2011 has been ordered to stand trial by a Calgary judge for first degree murder.
Spencer Jordan and his wife Marie Magoon were arrested after investigators found that Meika Jordan died of blunt force trauma.
Both were charged with first-degree murder in the death, but Jordan argued in May for his charge to be reduced.
A judge ruled on Wednesday that the original charge will stand.
Both accused will stand trial by judge alone on March 2015.
