Alberta Health Services has announced its plan to reintroduce medical services in the flood ravaged community of High River.
The recent flood was unprecedented in Alberta’s history. I want to take this opportunity to reassure High River residents and local health care staff that we remain committed to providing the people of High River with the health services they need and getting things back to normal as quickly as possible,” says Health Minister Fred Horne.
The hospital’s Urgent Care Clinic has reopened, as well as spaces for local physicians and immunizations.
Community based services including public health, home care, addiction support and mental health clinics are expected to return to the hospital, utilizing temporary spaces, in the near future.
Long term care residents will return to the hospital once support systems are reinstalled.
“I want to thank the health professionals in High River for their hard work, perseverance and unwavering commitment to patient care during these challenging times,” says Horne.
